External field staff of Telecom Department require ringing current very frequently. They get this ringing current from MDF or Exchange. However if number of faults are more then MDF people cannot cope up with the current requirement of external field. To avoid this problem Ring Generator is used. Without the help of MDF, field staff can give ringing current to the subscriber side.
Ring Generator generates 75V 17Hz ringing current using
the internal battery supply. This ringing current is identical to that of a
continuous Static Ringer. Once the subscriber lifts the handset ,
there will be LED indication on the unit. Then the line man can lift
his handset and talk to the subscriber. In case of a short in the line
uder test, a seperate LED indicator is provided. Battery used is
rechargeable, maintenance free type. There is also inbuilt charging circuit.
So when the battery voltage goes down it can be recharged. This unit
also works on mains 230V AC supply.
Single channel unit is available in 2 versions. In RG/DC
model unit works on internal maintenance free battery or on external 230 V
AC supply. If ringing current is required by many people,
Multichannel Ring Generator unit is available.
