Cable Fault Locator is one of the most useful product for the field staff of the Telecom Department. With the help of Cable Fault Locator, one can easily find the exact location (distance) of the fault.

The unit generates high energy pulses of very short duration. These pulses are applied to the cable pair under test. At the point of fault, these pulses are reflected back. By studying the nature of reflected pulse, one can easily find whether the line is short or open. Moreover, by aligning the reflected signal with the original signal, we can find out the location (distance) of the fault. The equipment design employs latest solid state technology ensuring high reliability and simplicity of operation. Various measurements and computations are automatically carried out and the exact distance to the fault is displayed on the digital readout. Fault location within 20 Kms can be traced out.

Unit works on internal battery supply. Inbuilt timer switches off unit automatically after 4 minutes of the unit being idle. This avoids unnecessary discharge of the battery and improves the life of the battery.
